AIM-HIV PROJECT------------------------Instituto Salud Carlos III

What is AIM-HIV?

AIM-HIV is an acronym for Anti-Inflammatory Microbicides against HIV.

The objective of the project aims at the development of a preventive, effective and low-cost microbicide based on 5-Hydroxytyrosol, a new molecule not used as microbicide previously. The final goal of this work is to reduce the transmission of HIV in countries with high incidence of HIV infection, with special attention to sub-Saharan Africa.
